John A. Mays, Jr.

Bio:

John is a tireless advocate for clients inside and outside of the courtroom. As a civil litigation and trial attorney, he devotes his practice to injury, workers compensation, and wrongful death cases. John’s experience in the law began in Cedartown, Georgia, where he worked for the Parker & Lundy Law Firm through college and law school. Within his first three years of practicing law, John tried several cases as lead counsel. In his first jury trial out of law school, he obtained a jury verdict over 6x his client’s medical bills, in excess of policy limits, and has since won a majority of his cases including a bad faith judgment against an insurance company. Based on peer-review voting and other criteria, John has been selected a Georgia Rising Stars honoree as published by Super Lawyers. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to receive this honor. John’s law practice has grown organically over the years, deriving approximately 70% of his cases from referrals of other attorneys. John has built a reputation for taking on difficult cases, many of which other attorneys turn down, and creating value through strategic litigation and effective lawyering. John and his wife live in Lawrenceville, Georgia with their two sons and dogs, Darla and Duke. Outside of the office, John enjoys outdoor sports, music, cooking, and the Georgia Bulldogs.
